Harley discovered yoga during a stagnant period in life where judgment and competition dominated while individuality and authenticity were placed on the sideline. Yoga served as a refreshing change in perspective to let go of the past and move on to new adventures.
As a Doctor of Physical Therapy (licensed in Washington, California, and Texas) and certified yoga, meditation, and breathwork instructor, Harley finds inspiration in the integration of the power of the breath with mindful movement to channel the fire that dwells within. Harley strongly believes every single person’s life story matters no matter what trauma and pain one has experienced in the past, and that by listening to and sharing these stories with one another, we allow each other to grow and cultivate community through diversity.
Harley was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and completed undergraduate and graduate studies at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX. Harley received a Bachelor of Arts in 2014 with Summa cum Laude honors, majoring in Biology and double minoring in Psychology and Philosophy and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2016, making the Who's Who list. Harley passed the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) through the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy in 2017 and began practice as a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy in Texas, working in the outpatient physical therapy setting. They worked as travel physical therapist in California in 2022 and now works as a float physical therapist for ATI Physical Therapy District 29 in Seattle, Washington.
Harley completed a Yoga Alliance certified 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at the yoga movement in Dallas, Texas in October 2017 as well as a 200-hour Meditation Teacher Training at Breathe - Meditation and Wellness in Dallas, Texas in July 2020. Harley is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider® (YACEP®) and is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200). Harley also took part in Awakened Breath's 2024 Breathwork Facilitator Training Program and has guided relaxing, activating/dynamic, and sonic neural healing breathwork practices to help participants heal deep emotional wounds, release past traumas, create inner peace, and improve the mind and body connection through the power of the breath.
Harley has led many yoga and meditation workshops and classes and was a Lead Trainer for Black Swan Yoga Dallas's 200-hour yoga teacher training cohort in 2021. Harley has worked at several yoga and meditation studios and even rock climbing gyms and community centers in Dallas, Texas: the yoga movement, Black Swan Yoga Dallas (Lovers Lane and Bishop Arts locations), The Refuge Meditation, BalancingEnergy Health + Yoga Center, Oso Climbing Gyms, Aaron Family Jewish Community Center, Summit Climbing + Yoga + Fitness, TruFusion, Satya Yoga, Yoga Art Music (YAM), and Breathe - Meditation & Wellness. Harley is credited in expanding the popularity of yin yoga and sound bath meditation classes in the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex due to their creative take on blending the physicality of yoga practice and mindfulness of spiritual meditation for a complete mind-body integration.
